The 2010 Annual Stamp Album is another compilation of preserved images and a narrative that tells the story of the nation’s natural heritage, culture, development and success. Consisting of 16 stamp issues of various subjects and key events, this album portrays Malaysia as a developed nation that values tradition, culture, environment and achievements.

Malaysian Currency stamps issued in conjunction with National Bank of Malaysia’s 50th Anniversary was a unique issue using special printing on foil, followed by the Joint Issue with Korea featuring the Tiger were merely the beginning of an exciting year of the stamp issues. The ferns and fireflies were the fauna highlighted in the year, whereby the latter was magnificently presented using a special foil to achieve the light effect from the firefly. Culture and tradition was also represented by the Traditional Festive Food, Local Markets and Heritage of Pahang stamp issues. The success of the medical field was also acknowledge in the Medical Excellence stamp issues, as were the brave warriors in the stamp issue Grand Knight of Valour, the highest bravery award in Malaysia.

The 1Malaysia concept founded on the principles of “People First, Performance Now” was again highlighted this year as a reminder of the culture, tradition and diversity that unites a nation. This year was another milestones as regards the new national definitive which was issued due to the new postal tariffs in Malaysia. Traditional Games with Upin & Ipin was the highlight especially for children and also an excellent closing for the year for stamp collectors as this was the first self-adhesive stamp issued in Malaysia, with additional features of perforation, glitter and spot UV.
