SULTAN NAZRIN SHAH
Sultan Nazrin Shah was born on 27 November 1956 at George Town, Penang. He is the eldest son of the late Sultan of Perak,
Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Yussuf Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-lah and the former Raja Permaisuri of Perak
Tuanku Bainun Binti Mohd Ali.
ROYAL LIFE
He was proclaimed the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Perak on 15 April 1984, taking over from his father, Sultan Azlan Shah, who had become the Sultan of Perak two weeks earlier. On 29 May 2014 he become the 35th Sultan of Perak on the death of his father, Sultan Azlan.

(Selangor), D.K. (Kelantan) , S.P.C.M, S.P.T.S, S.P.M.P. (Perlis), Ph.D (Harvard), MPA (Harvard).
He was appointed Regent of Perak when his father became the ninth Yang di-Pertuan Agong from 1989 to 1994.
As the Sultan of Perak he is also the Colonel-in-Chief of the Malaysian Army's Rejimen Askar Jurutera DiRaja.
MARRIAGE
Sultan Nazrin of Perak married Zara Salim Davidson at Istana Iskandariah, Bukit Chandan, on 17 May 2007. Sultan Nazrin and Tuanku Zara had known each other for eight years before the wedding.
The day after the wedding there was a ceremony to bestow Tuanku Zara with the official title of Raja Puan Besar of Perak. Nazrin's father had proclaimed Zara Salim Davidson as the Raja Puan Besar of Perak and conferred the Darjah Kerabat on her.
The first child of the couple, Raja Azlan Muzzaffar Shah, was born on 14 March 2008, followed by Raja Nazira Safya Shah on 2 August 2011.
Gold Ink Commemorative Stamps On Perak Sultan Available From Thursday
KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- Pos Malaysia will be issuing a special commemorative stamp and philatelic collection in conjunction with the enthronement of the Sultan of Perak XXXV, tomorrow.
Pos Malaysia Group chief executive officer Azlan Shahrim said the collection would be available for sale at all post offices nationwide starting May 7.
"We are proud to mark the occasion of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Perak's enthronement by issuing this special collection," he said in a statement, here, today.
The special issue consists of three individual stamps featuring the portrait of the Perak Sultan, measuring 30mm x 51mm priced at 60 sen and RM1.20 while the stamp featuring His and Her Royal Highness is priced at 80 sen each on a sheet of 20 stamps each.
"There will also be a miniature sheet featuring a portrait of His and Her Royal Highness measuring 100mm x 80mm with a stamp measuring 42mm x 70mm in size available at RM5 each.
"A premium miniature sheet with a face value of RM10 is also included in this issuance. However, the quantity is limited and reserved for Istana Perak and Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) members only," he said.
He said iridescent and gold inks were used on the background and on the crest and words of the premium minature sheet respectively.
"The background colour changes depending on the incidence of light," he said.
First day covers are also available on the first day of the stamp issuance at 50 sen each and RM3.10 with a stamp set, RM5.50 with a miniature sheet set, while the folder is priced at RM6 each and the complete set at RM71.60.
Customers who buy the first day covers at the Kuala Kangsar Post Office or Pos Malaysia booth at the Ipoh Town Hall during the exhibition on Thursday will get the Kuala Kangsar mark on their first day covers as a special offer.
