Established in 1928 in Hawaii, the Pan-Pacific and Southeast Asia Women’s Association (PPSEAWA) is the earliest established women’s organization in the world. It is accredited to the UN through ECOSOC, under Category II and has representatives in UNICEF, UNESCO and ESCAP. Its overall objective is to promote peace, equality and development among women and upgrading the quality of family life. The 20th International Conference ‘Strengthening Alliances for a Bette World in The 21st Century’ to be held in Kuala Lumpur on 23.8.1997 will identify strategies and develop a Plan of Action for member countries.
