AirAsia X started low-cost long haul flight from Kuala Lumpur to Stansted London in March 2009
AirAsia X is of long-haul, low-cost flights between Asia and Europe. Using an A340 the airline linked between Kuala Lumpur LCCT and London Stansted five times a week. It was later switched from Stansted to Gatwick in October 2011.
On 12 January 2012, AirAsia X withdrew services to Delhi, Mumbai, London and Paris, citing high fuel prices, "exorbitant" taxes, and weak travel demand. It stopped flying from London's Gatwick airport on 1 April 2012.
